Heating Controls Wiring Simplified

Sunvic’s new Plugit controls system is an important breakthrough that greatly simplifies and speeds up the installation of ‘airing cupboard’ controls in wet domestic central heating systems. It helps prevent wiring errors and also resolves issues related to Building Regulations, Part P, Electrical Safety.

For use with 230Vac 50Hz supplies, Sunvic Plugit systems do not require voltage-reducing transformers. These systems come in boxed packs containing appropriate, user selected, pre-wired control components and circulating pumps. Cables from each component have special colour coded plug connectors that enable instant connection and virtually eliminate any wiring errors.
Another welcome time saver is that, as all the matched components are in easily handled self-contained packs, searching for ‘lost’ components on site becomes a thing of the past.

Nowadays, complying with Building Regulations is a major concern. Heating installers must comply with Part P, Electrical Safety, which requires most fixed electrical wiring in the home to be installed by qualified, competent electricians. Employing electricians incurs extra cost and can create unwelcome delays in completing jobs. With Plugit systems, there is barely any fixed wiring and installers can thus minimise any involvement in Part P requirements.

The contents of Plugit pack are chosen by users to suit their individual system applications. Each pack can include a 10-way wiring centre, relevant two-port or three-port valves, a cylinder thermostat, an automatic by-pass valve and a circulating pump. The motorised valves may be of either the Motor On/Motor Off energy-saving type or standard spring return versions. All actuators can be changed without draining down the system.

The wiring centre at the heart of the system has a 10-way terminal block suitable for a 230V, 10 A supply. It is suitable for fixed wiring, is manufactured in flame-resistant white ABS and measures 155 x 40 x 85 mm.
All connector cables have voltage ratings of 300/500 and operating temperature ratings of 90°C continuous (BS 6141 table 15. AFAA). The connectors are rated at 600Vac, 9A and are produced in Nylon UL94V – 0.
